Dear sir/Madam,
I am writing in response to the advertisement in the paper for a weekend position at your hotel that I came across the other day. I am a second year Economics student at a college in the city and could use some part time work to support my studies.
I am very keen to put myself up as a candidate because I know what it is like to work in the hospitality industry. I have got two years of experience working at a hotel before and in that position my responsibilities included greeting guests as they entered the lobby and taking reservations over the telephone. I always saw to it that the guests were happy and comfortable. I speak fluent English and have working knowledge of Spanish and French along with good customer service skills and computer proficiency. Having been to your hotel several times I know how many non-English speaking customers you often get.I am excited at the idea that I could put to use my Spanish and French speaking skills every weekend if I got the job.
I would like to know what the job involves and the skills I need to work for you.I am open to undergoing training if it is required. I look forward to an opportunity to discuss the position with you in more detail.
